Heroes returns for its second volume Monday (NBC, 9 ET/PT), with most of the characters trying to return to normalcy four months after the near-nuclear destruction of New York, even as a new force stalks those with extraordinary abilities. Viewers will learn what happened to Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) and Nathan (Adrian Pasdar), the brothers who appeared to explode in space, and Matt (Greg Grunberg), whose life hung in the balance after a confrontation with the villain Sylar (Zachary Quinto), whose fate also was unclear.
