A new legion of fans will discover if dreams come true for a group of aspiring young performers with the premiere of MTV’s reality series “Making Menudo,” beginning October 25 at 10:30pm ET/PT, following the fourth season premiere of “Run’s House.”
The new reality series features special appearances by Wilmer Valderrama, Frankie J, and Backstreet Boys member Howie D.
MTV has seen the influence Menudo has left on both Latin and American culture and that’s why they’re seeking to put the new Menudo together.
To help you understand the impact of Menudo, MTV asked some of Hollywood’s hottest Latino actors to speak about the band’s influence on their lives. First up is Dania Ramirez.
Some of you may know her as AJ’s ex-fiance on "The Sopranos" but most of you should know her as the newbie on "Heroes," Maya, one half of the Dominican twins with the power to mysteriously kill people when she starts crying.

Dania Ramirez's career has been on a very impressive roll lately. Last year she played the villainous Brotherhood member Callisto in X-Men: The Last Stand, before segueing into a recurring role on the final season of The Sopranos as Blanca, the girlfriend to A.J. Soprano. Her time on The Sopranos may be over, but now Ramirez is stepping into another huge show, as she joins Heroes this fall as a new regular cast member.
Ramirez plays Maya, and like so much on the show, there are plenty of secrets pertaining to her character that will be revealed on screen. What little is known includes the fact that Maya is introduced alongside her twin brother, Alejandro (Shalim Ortiz). I spoke to Ramirez about her exciting new role on the hit NBC series, along with her time on Sopranos, working with Ian McKellen in X-Men, and her stint as a potential Vampire Slayer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer's final season.
